I am born–Only a Gone with the Wind fan will understand this post!!

To quote “Melanie” (Gone with the Wind) as she was reading from Charles Dickens: (David Copperfield)….

“Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show. To begin my life with the beginning of my life, I record that I was born (as I have been informed and believe) on a Friday, at twelve o’clock at night. It was remarked that the clock began to strike, and I began to cry, simultaneously.”

Long story short….HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

A Hidden Treasure – 44 Years Later

A Hidden Treasure – 44 Years Later

Funny what things are lying in boxes, cabinets, stored boxes, etc.just waiting for the “day” they are found again and shared with loved ones that “remember”.  44 years ago this small business card was just an advertisement to my family.  Today,  it is a precious and sweet memory and an artifact that will be treasured and protected for many years to come.  My sister(found during a move this week) no doubt will place this treasured piece of our family history into an enclosure for safe keeping, as if it were a million dollar artifact at the Smithsonian.  You see, we three girls know the value of family and  we treasure our heritage and heirlooms that tell a story of our past.  That past, keeps us connected and holds us together with love for each other.

January 2012- Action in the Sky

January 2012- Action in the Sky

I hear there is a Quadrantid Meteor Shower in the next few hours. At approximately 1 a.m. (CT), Wed. Jan 4. there is supposed to be a spectacular sight to behold. Around 100 meteor shower sightings per hour!  I sure would like to see it. I may have to set my alarm.  Sometimes, it’s worth going to a bit of trouble to see the mysteries of God displayed in the heavens. I like to think of them as maybe angels racing to and fro proclaiming the good tidings of a risen Saviour!

Strange Feet–

Strange Feet–

Thanksgiving Day came and went in the usual way most do, except for this year.  Out of know where, totally unexpected, I received a “pic” of an unknown pair of feet. At that moment I did not recognize the phone number nor the feet! Obviously someone has been tracking my blog and had seen my “feet” pics.  I don’t hae a foot faddish because most feet are not very attractive.  I can remember the first time that I snapped my first feet pic. I was visiting my sister and we were sitting along her pool and we had been dangling our feet in the water.  For some unknown reason I snapped a shot of our two feet together.  The rest is history.  It just seems like the thing to do for fun…

Merry Christmas from the Compound

Merry Christmas from the Compound
Merry Christmas from Inside the Compound

I could not resist sharing the cute little feline with my friends.  Just call him Mr. Ben.  He takes care of the Big House inside the compound walls.  His duties are (but not limited too), keeping all the alley cats out of the house, stratching and meowing at all hours while his parents try to sleep.  He also is highly trained to shoot a fly off the compound gate at 100 yards…  He is a slick kitty from the city.
